Not a brochure. A design studio, in your browser.

Design your own barn home in the Shouse Designer — draw the floor plan, drop in windows and skylights, flip to 3D, and render it photoreal on your own block. Love it? When your project gets real, the same model becomes your drawings, your engineering and your kit quote.

  • Free. Actually free.

Design for as long as you like — you pay nothing until your project gets real.

  • No CAD skills needed

It feels like sketching. The structural grid quietly keeps everything buildable.

  • See it, spin it, render it

Live 3D and photoreal renders of YOUR design — not a lookalike from a catalogue.

  • Share it with a link

Text your partner the link — they spin your home in 3D on their phone. Autosaves to your account.

Designed by you · Engineered for your site

Then it's engineered to stand up.

Behind every render is a portal frame checked member by member as you draw — the demand on every column and rafter against its capacity, for your exact spans and wind region, C1–C4 cyclonic included. That first pass keeps you inside the system; the site-specific engineering that a certifier relies on is produced in Stage Two. Your home isn't adapted from a shed table.

  • Demand ÷ capacity computed per member, per portal — a first pass, as you draw
  • Engineered to YOUR spans, bays and wind region
  • The same model quotes the kit — structure and price can’t drift apart
  • Site-specific engineering produced by qualified professionals, coordinated by MBA, before anything is manufactured

Make every approval decision.

A real build · Weymouth, Tasmania

Shed Home #03. Not a render — a home.

The double-height flagship from the series, designed in our system, delivered as a kit and raised on a real block on Tasmania's north coast. These are photos from the actual build — slab, steel, mezzanine, fit-out.

No money surprises

Every dollar, on the table.

Each step priced before you take it — and you can stop at any rung with everything you've paid for in hand. The formal quote comes after engineering, against a named engineering release.

  1. Free

    Design

Create it — the full Designer, 3D, your real block, and a live indicative kit price as you draw. Free, for as long as you like.

  2. $299 inc GST

    Detailed Estimate

Understand it — MBA turns your project into reviewed facts: a kit estimate with its basis stated, your block read, and one clear next decision. Indicative, and not a supply quotation. Valid 30 days.

  3. $1,200 inc GST

    Stage One · Preliminary Drawings

Document it — the issued A3 set of your exact home on your exact block, with MBA’s site-fit review and wind verification. Credited to the kit.

  4. $5,000 inc GST

    Stage Two · Engineering

Engineer it — site-specific engineering and the energy pathway, produced by qualified professionals and coordinated by MBA.

  5. Evidence

    Engineering release

MBA records the professional outputs and the engineering-resolved bill of materials for your design revision.

  6. Issued

    Formal quote

MBA issues a written supply quotation against the release — an offer with a 14-day validity, accepted per the terms.

  7. Kit

    Kit supply

MBA supplies it — every member counted from the model, flat-packed to your site. Your builder or owner-builder builds it.

Kit prices are “from” prices inc GST for the engineered shell — delivery, slab, windows and fit-out additional.
